This is my new favorite aloe gel because it is alcohol free so it doesn't sting when it gets into cuts, abrasions, cracked or damaged skin. It's 99% certified organic whole leaf aloe vera, and contains vitamins A, C, & E. It also does not have to be refrigerated, which is a convenience factor for me. Most of the ingredients are from vitamins or herbs, the only one that's not is potassium sorbate, which is considered a mild preservative and is a naturally occurring organic acid that is used as a mold inhibitor.
The fact that it doesn't have to go in the frig is important to me because I put it on my son when he's asleep. He's recovering from eczema, and if the gel is cold, it is more likely to wake him up. The aloe simply soothes the eczema rash and doesn't suppress it the way steroids do. I don't use steroids on eczema, psoriasis, or any type of dermatitis as that simply suppresses the rash and sends the problem deeper into the body. Of course having an aloe plant around is always a natural option too, but this is a nice, convenient size to have around the house.
